  Ripper Swarm Brood - A writhing mat of maggot-like Tyranid organisms, a Ripper Swarm is driven by a single voracious appetite. Each Ripper is little more than an armoured serpent. They are completely mindless but, under the guidance of the Hive Mind, they are utterly relentless and pose a truly horrifying threat. From the moment a Tyranid Hive Fleet makes planetfall, billions of voracious organisms are released over the planet, and most numerous amongst these creatures are Rippers.
